Chapter_100
At that moment, Simon appeared from nowhere, his presence commanding attention as he grabbed Scarlett by the arm. Scarlett’s cold eyes burned with fury as she turned her glare onto Whitney, her voice sharp with outrage.
“That crazy woman hit me! Simon!” she spat, her voice rising in indignation.
Simon’s grip tightened around Scarlett’s arm as he pulled her aside, his gaze briefly flickering to Whitney. Despite the anger in Scarlett’s tone, he appeared unfazed, his calm demeanor standing in stark contrast to the chaos surrounding them.
“Scarlett, calm down,” Simon muttered, his voice low and measured, a warning in his tone. He didn’t need to explain himself; the situation was already spiraling out of control, and he wasn’t about to let it get worse.
Whitney, still standing her ground, met Simon’s gaze with a composed, almost mocking smile. She wasn’t about to back down—not from Scarlett, not from anyone.
Simon gave Scarlett a warning look before turning back to Whitney, his expression hardening. “I suggest you both take a step back before things get worse.”
Scarlett shot Whitney one last venomous look before turning to Simon, seething with anger. “This woman has no shame! She thinks she can just humiliate me in front of everyone?”
Simon ignored her outburst, his focus now entirely on Whitney. His calm, controlled presence was enough to ease the tension in the air for a moment, but the storm was far from over. The crowd around them had gone silent, waiting for what would come next.
Whitney met Simon’s gaze with a look of cool defiance, her voice low but clear. “I’ve had enough of this game, Simon. If she wants to play dirty, I’ll play dirty too. Just make sure she doesn’t think she can get away with it.”
Simon studied her for a long moment, then nodded, seemingly satisfied with her response. He stepped away, motioning for Scarlett to follow him. The crowd parted as they made their way toward the exit, leaving Whitney standing tall in the center of the room.
Though the tension was far from gone, for now, the immediate danger had passed. But in the back of Whitney’s mind, she knew the game was far from over. She could already feel the weight of what was to come.
And she was ready.
